Columbia University researchers, backed by a $20 million National Science Foundation grant, are breaking new ground at the intersection of AI and neuroscience. With a legacy of pioneering brain research, Columbia’s collaboration between AI and natural intelligence is poised to revolutionize our understanding of human behavior and expertise.

Meet our Speaker
Dr. Terrence E. Maltbia
Dr. Terrence E. Maltbia, Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Organization and Leadership, at Teachers College; also serves as Faculty Director for Columbia University Coaching Center of Excellence. Scholarly interests include strategic learning; leadership and organizational development; diversity and cultural intelligence; executive and organizational coaching.
Terry came to Columbia after 30 years of diverse experience as an external and internal organizational effectiveness consultant, thought leader and educator—in positions ranging from field sales, sales management, sales training, to Vice President Organizational Effectiveness Center of Excellence for a major Fortune 200 Corporation— as well as two consulting firms.
He is the recipient of The Academy of Human Resources Development’s Malcolm Knowles Dissertation of the Year Award for his pioneering diversity practitioner research and AHRD’s Cutting Edge Award for Conference Paper entitled “Trust and Presence as Relational Coaching Competencies; recognized as #1 In Coach Education in the World by Thinkers50 | Marshall Goldsmith’s Top Global Coaches; AIIR Consulting’s 2020 Coaching Leadership Award Winner in 2020 | Outstanding Contribution to Coaching Award – Henley Business School, University Reading, Fall 2021.

Dr. Matthias Ehrhardt
Dr. Matthias Ehrhardt, founder and director of the Autoris Leadership Institute, has over 25 years of experience as an executive coach, advisor, and professor in leadership, talent development, and entrepreneurship. He has worked with individuals, VC and PE firms, family businesses, NGOs, and global corporations such as Microsoft, Daimler, and KPMG. Matthias has also built, invested in, and restructured companies across industries, including climate-tech and high-tech.
Matthias holds doctorates in Law and Art History, with master’s degrees in Media Psychology and Political Science as well as multiple certifications in coaching and talent development (CPTD, HOGAN, Emotional Intelligence). He is an alumnus of Harvard, Columbia, and IESE Business Schools, as well as an alumnus of the Columbia Coaching Program.
He regularly speaks at conferences and teaches in numerous executive education and coaching programs, such as IESE’s Leadership Coaching Program.
Driven by his passion for tech-enhanced leadership and coaching, Matthias is advancing AI-driven coaching solutions. A recent initiative, the Leadership Alliance, supports 5,000 women entrepreneurs in Kenya with assessments, train-the-trainer programs, and coaching through Autoris’ virtual AI coach, Ati. Based in Boston, he has also studied and worked in Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
