About the Event:

ATDNYC and ICF NYC Chapter invite you for an insider’s peek into enterprise coaching cultures: how they’re built, what it means for your organization and your coaching practice.

Part 1: One hour moderated panel discussion with Q&A. Hear from industry-leading coaches who built and scaled corporate coaching cultures on what it takes and the types of coaches they hire. Speakers: David Lipsky (Head Coach, Samsung Electronics America) and Brett Badders (Global Head of Coaching & People Advisor, S&P Global).

Part 2: Move into two 20 minute breakout sessions, connecting ATD’s talent developers who hire coaches with ICF coaches around key topic areas in corporate coaching, such as high potentials, change and career development.

Learning Objectives:

Learn about internal coaching at scale, how coaching is used for talent development, and unique organizational approaches to coaching cultures.

For ICF NYC coaches, learn what large corporations are looking for in coaches, ways to position yourself, and where they source their coaches.

Agenda:

David has produced results in a variety of complex, multicultural organizations including; Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, KPMG, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart, Sony and UNICEF. He is the Head Coach of Samsung Electronics America, helping to orchestrate the Global Coaching Culture initiative, serves on the Executive Committee of the Conference Board’s Coaching and Leadership Development Council, and a Lecturer with New York University.

Brett BaddersGlobal Head of Coaching & People Advisory, S&P Global

As the Global Head of Coaching & People Advisory at S&P Global, Brett is focused on helping people navigate their future through meaningful, actionable and compelling coaching conversations. As a founder of the industry-leading S&P Career Coaching Program in 2020, he leads a team of internal certified coaches that offer democratized coaching to all employees through 1:1 conversations that are confidential, individualized and open-ended. His team also manages all external coaching partnerships and is responsible for developing a coaching culture across the organization. Since joining S&P Global in 2015, Brett has taken on several roles including People Strategy & Alignment and serving as the People Partner for the Corporate Functions. Prior to joining S&P Global, Brett held People Partner positions at Goldman Sachs, AIG, Aetna and American Express. Brett earned a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an Undergraduate degree in Psychology & Biblical Studies from Evangel University. He has completed his Coach certification training at Columbia University.

Shamis Pitts is the Founder and CEO of Pitts Leadership Consulting (“PLC”), a human capital consulting company specializing in organizational health and employee wellbeing. PLC helps organizations enhance work environments to drive employee retention, productivity and performance to amplify profitability and impact. PLC lives at the intersection of organizational development, professional development and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging-related services. Launched in 2019 and formally established in 2020, PLC’s clients include for-profit and nonprofit organizations, as well as higher education institutions.

Shamis has operated at the intersection of strategy, people management and leadership, and operations for 25+ years within various industries. She holds an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, concentrating in leadership and strategy, and a BA in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. Shamis is an ICF-Certified Professional Coach at the PCC level, a SHRM-SCP, an ATD member, and holds other DEI and coaching-specific certifications.

Shamis has contributed articles to National Career Development Association-Career Convergence, The Executive Leadership Council – Institute for Leadership Development and Research, Thrive Global and HR Jolt Magazine. She has been featured in Employee Benefit News and in Authority Magazine, and is also a Featured Expert in the Growth Leadership course within The Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell online certification. Shamis is a proud Finalist in the 21st annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business: Mentor or Coach of the Year – Business and was selected by Profiles in Diversity Journal® as a Women Worth Watching® in Leadership for 2024.

Shamis currently serves on the President’s Council for The Acceleration Project, an innovative, award-winning consulting firm focused on under-resourced and underfunded small businesses, particularly women and minority-owned enterprises. She is passionate about mentoring early and mid-career women of color, playing golf with her spouse, and watching Columbo reruns.CCEUs:
