James C. Jones is a professional coach and Diversity & Inclusion practitioner. Most recently, Jim served as Senior Vice President of Education and Diversity Solutions for NAMIC, the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications. He oversaw all executive and professional development programs for this national non-profit association serving the media and entertainment industry, along with designing and delivering custom D&I workshops. Jim’s work centered on collaborating with NAMIC’s corporate partners to establish and nurture enterprise-wide, sustainable diversity and inclusion strategies focused on ensuring that the leadership and influence cadres of the media and entertainment industry reflect the increasingly diverse global consumers of content. In addition, Jim frequently coached executives from partner companies. NAMIC remains a principal client.
After receiving a B.A. from Harvard, Jim attended New York’s Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, concentrating on the classical recital repertoire and operatic performance. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to France, and spent five years studying and performing in European concert and opera venues. He eventually returned to America and attended the Columbia Business School, from which he earned an M.B.A.
Having become certified as a professional coach in May 2019 with the College of Executive Coaching, Jim currently works with individual clients and organizations, including the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
